The Newly Visible Newt

Once upon a time, when he was Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich was very visible. They he lay low for a few years: we didn't see or hear much of him. Now, suddenly, he's very visible again, appearing on those Sunday-morning talking-heads political shows.

Why is he again so much in the public eye? He's got "presidential candidate" written all over him.
Remember that this is the guy who told his wife he was divorcing her while she was lying in the hospital terminally ill with cancer. But people have short memories, and he's banking on that.

Remember at least what a newt is: a little lizard.

  1. In this case our newt lizard sports fangs and spits poison. Despite what this guy did or didn't tell his wife he has a crazy phobia about gay people wanting to take over the world. Ginrich also has a phobia about atheists and wants to hear people refer to themselves as agnostics rather than atheists. Newt isn't cute and comes across more as a dinosaur (dangerous lizard) who not only needs to be watched out for but caged.

  2. I'd like to correct myself in my earlier comment. Dinosaur really means "terrible lizard" and of course a dinosaur was incorrectly misnamed a lizard long ago. Newt Gingrich on the other hand can be thought of as both terrible and dangerous and needs if anything to be made extinct.
